Bright and airy Trust meeting room at Heywood House

The Trust

The National Trust acquired Heywood House in 1982 and converted the estate from a school into offices for their staff.

The Trust contains a TV Plasma HD Screen and video conferencing equipment with Logitech camera equipment for small meetings.

Boardroom meeting in The Treasury at Heywood House

The Treasury

Sir James Ley built Heywood House in 1603. He became Lord High Treasurer to King James and then to King Charles I and was created the 1st Earl of Marlborough.

The Treasury, in board-room style, has video conferencing equipment for large meetings.

Marlborough Room

The Marlborough

Three Earls of Marlborough lived here. On Sir James Ley’s death his son Henry became the 2nd Earl and MP for Westbury and Devizes. Sir James’ grandson, James, became the 3rd Earl but died fighting the Dutch fleet off Lowestoft.

This room is set up cabaret style and provides space for meeting, training or “break-outs”.

Historic Main Hall at Heywood Hall

The Main Hall

This was the heart of the original Jacobean manor, extensively embellished in 1837 with a fireplace large enough for any “Fireside Chat”!

With an 87-inch presentation screen and speakers, this space easily converts into a Conference Venue/Event Space, in theatre style for up to 100 delegates or Cabaret style for up to 64 delegates.

Team away days in the Conservatory

The Conservatory

This was originally created as a “Palm House” by philanthropist Henry Ludlow in the 1800s. It then became a swimming pool in the 1970s, a Conservatory under the National Trust, and today it houses our Café.

It has AV equipment and is used for talks and conferences, as well as events for the public at weekends.
